Three Sisters Condominiums
Three Sisters Condominium includes 12 Homeownership units (6 units are affordable (80% AMI) units and 6 units are Market Rate units). This project involves the total gut rehabilitation of three historic Brownstone buildings. These buildings formally housed twenty seven (27) rental units and have been converted to twelve (12) Condominiums for home-ownership. The twelve (12) units consists of one (1) three bedroom unit, six (6) 2 bedroom units and five (5) four bedroom units. Two (2) units of the (2) bedrooms conform to the America Disabilities Act standards. The units are energy efficient and so certified.
The $3.8 million rehabilitation effort was funded by $2 million of Special Act funds through the State of Connecticut, Department of Economic Community Development and $1.8 million in HOME funds by the City of New Haven. The buildings will act as a cornerstone to residential rehabilitation in this community due to its proximity to downtown and its location next to the $37 million newly constructed John Daniels School. This community is the gateway to the Medical District with the almost $700 million current investment in construction at Smilow, 2 Howe Street and 55 Park Street.
